The method

5 Simple Steps to Perfectly Organised Travel

Hands place the Furl packing roll flat with the two square Velcro patches facing up, ready for packing.

Lay it flat

Lay your Furl packing roll out flat on a bed or table with the logo facing down. You'll see the two square Velcro patches at one end — you'll be rolling towards these.

Pro tip

The inner lining faces up when laid correctly — this is where your clothes will sit.

Hands place a folded sweater onto the Furl, leaving the Velcro patches uncovered.

Place your clothes

Fold your clothes to fit the width of the packing roll. Place them on top, starting just below the Velcro section. Folding to width ensures everything rolls up neatly without spilling over the sides.

Pro tip

Leave the Velcro section clear — if clothes cover it, the roll won't fasten properly.

Hands place another folded item of clothing on top, with each item slightly overlapping.

Fill and layer

Continue layering your clothes with slight overlap between each item. Once you've placed everything, fold any unused material at the far end back over the clothes.

Pro tip

Jeans and bulkier items compress better near the centre of the Furl, so place those down last.

Roll it up

Starting from the end furthest from the Velcro, roll your Furl and its contents tightly towards the Velcro end. The clothes compress as you roll. The roll will fasten itself as the Velcro patches meet.

Pro tip

Furl is designed to roll to 12–18 cm in diameter — the right size to fit neatly in a carry-on. If the Velcro doesn't quite reach, remove one item and try again — just like a packing cube that won't zip, it's a sign you've packed a little too much.

An open suitcase containing two rolled Furls and a toiletry bag.

Pack and go

Drop your Furl into your luggage — it fits neatly into suitcases, holdalls, and most backpacks, with room left for shoes and extras. Your entire travel wardrobe is just an unfurl away.

Pro tip

When you arrive, unroll onto the bed to see everything at once. Take what you need, then re-roll in seconds — no living out of a messy suitcase.

You're officially a packing pro.

Packing tips for success

Start with a plan

Lay out all your clothes first to see what you're working with. This helps you decide what stays and what goes.

Layer strategically

Begin with lighter items and work up to bulkier pieces. This creates a more compact roll and helps prevent wrinkles on your more delicate clothes.

Pack in groups

Pack one Furl per person, or separate clothes by outfit or activity. Everything stays grouped and easy to find when you arrive.

Roll tightly

Roll on a hard surface — a table or the floor gives you better leverage and helps you get a tighter, more even roll. Apply even pressure across the full width as you go.
